Garage Doors!

I never thought I would be excited about garage doors! I love my new carriage style doors. They are 9 foot doors so they are a little larger than the standard 8 foot doors. I think the black hardware and beadboard style makes them look great.

Stairs & Railing

We now have stair treads and a railing! This was the last big thing we needed to completed inside the house. It took us a long time to make a decision on the balusters and newell posts, but I think the ones we picked look great.

Driveway Framing

The driveway was framed today. I never realized it was such a time consuming, labor intensive job! I think it's going to look GREAT!

Lot Grading

Our lot has finally been graded and it only took 8 trucks full of dirt! I knew it had some low lying areas, but had no idea how low these areas were. Now we can get ready for our sidewalk and driveway. Yeah....

Crawl Space Vents

The crawl space vents have been constructed, primed and painted. I went all over town searching for the correct "hardware cloth" to cover the inside of the vents - to keep the critters out. Now if we can just get them installed!

Brick Steps

Our brickmason poured the concrete pad and built our front steps this week. The brick we picked out is called Old Savannah with gray mortar. I think they turned out pretty nice.

Porches

The front and back porch railings have now been completed! Yeah! It's about time. We closed in the back porch for now in anticipation of a new deck. The front porch railing is being built right now and should be complete by the end of the week. My little guy found a fun spot to hang out on the new front porch.
