Finished Kitchen

Getting Ready for Halloween

It won't be long now.....

Stairs

The stairs turned out great! We were a little disappointed in the stain color, but that can always be changed later.

Appliances

Our appliances finally arrived. The poor store held them for us for 3 months! We got all stainless steel Bosch appliances. Will post a picture of them actually installed in our kitchen later.

Landscaping

The landscaping was a tedious rewarding experience. After 12 truck loads of dirt for our raised flower bed, the yard looks pretty good. We added 3 large Live Oaks, 2 Palmetto trees, azaleas, Japanese maple, knock-out roses, gardenias, indian hawthorne (which we found out the deer love to eat) and lots of sod.

Irrigation

We now have irrigation in our yard! It was a pretty simple process to my amazement and only took a few hours to install thanks to our GREAT landscaper! This will be the first summer I won't have to move the sprinkler around to water the grass.

Wood Floors

Our wood floors have been delivered! They came all the way from Brazil - Brazilian Koa (Tigerwood).

They weighed all of 8,000 pounds! I still feel bad for my old neighbor and plumber who helped carry them into the house - all 90 boxes! Thanks guys!!!!!

Toilets!

And then there were toilets! How exciting! It's been a long.... wait, but this house is finally starting to seem like a real home. It's about time!

Kitchen Cabinets

Our cabinets have been installed! They ordered the wrong size file cabinet for the computer area on the far left so they are not quite complete yet. The color is cherry merlot and looks great with Believable Buff by Sherwin Williams.

Front Door Stain

Our front door is finally stained and ready. The trim around the door is complete and looks great. Our carpenter really outdid himself on this one. Thanks Thomas!

Carpet

We have carpet in the upstairs bedrooms! WhoHoo...

French Drain

We had a French Drain installed on the left side of our property to prevent water from running into our neighbor's property. Hopefully it will work just like it's supposed to...

Garage Doors!

I never thought I would be excited about garage doors! I love my new carriage style doors. They are 9 foot doors so they are a little larger than the standard 8 foot doors. I think the black hardware and beadboard style makes them look great.

Stairs & Railing

We now have stair treads and a railing! This was the last big thing we needed to completed inside the house. It took us a long time to make a decision on the balusters and newell posts, but I think the ones we picked look great.

Driveway Framing

The driveway was framed today. I never realized it was such a time consuming, labor intensive job! I think it's going to look GREAT!

Lot Grading

Our lot has finally been graded and it only took 8 trucks full of dirt! I knew it had some low lying areas, but had no idea how low these areas were. Now we can get ready for our sidewalk and driveway. Yeah....

Crawl Space Vents

The crawl space vents have been constructed, primed and painted. I went all over town searching for the correct "hardware cloth" to cover the inside of the vents - to keep the critters out. Now if we can just get them installed!

Brick Steps

Our brickmason poured the concrete pad and built our front steps this week. The brick we picked out is called Old Savannah with gray mortar. I think they turned out pretty nice.

Porches

The front and back porch railings have now been completed! Yeah! It's about time. We closed in the back porch for now in anticipation of a new deck. The front porch railing is being built right now and should be complete by the end of the week. My little guy found a fun spot to hang out on the new front porch.
